Day 1 : HOW TO GET TO RIBE
Individual arrival by car to Ribe, the oldest city in Denmark. The city has a very special charm with the imposing cathedral as a landmark. Particularly worth seeing are the many half-timbered buildings in the centre and the original, winding cobblestone Astergassen with the typical white houses north of the cathedral. A trip to the Kammerslusen lock on the Wadden Sea just outside the city is also interesting. Overnight in Ribe.
Day 2 : RIBE - SILKEBORG
Drive to Silkeborg, the green heart of Denmark. The Gudenåen River runs through the countryside and offers idyllic excursions. The many islands and forests make Silkeborg a pearl for nature lovers. A ride on the coal-powered paddle steamer Hjejlen is a very special experience (not included!). The steamer is the oldest in the world that is still in operation. Overnight in Silkeborg.
Day 3 : SILKEBORG — ROSKILDE
Drive to Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark. After a short stay in Aarhus crossing to Odden on Zealand and continue to Roskilde. The cathedral of Roskilde has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. In addition to the Viking Ship Museum, Roskilde Harbour and the fjord are also worth seeing. Overnight in Roskilde.
Day 4 : TRIP TO COPENHAGEN
Today you have time to get to know the small metropolis of Copenhagen. The landmark is the Little Mermaid on the promenade of the Langelinie. The amusement park “TIVOLI”, the 34.8 metre high Rundetårn (Round Tower) with fantastic views, the shopping street “Strøget”, Amalienborg Castle residence and many more. Go to discovery. Overnight stay as the day before.
Day 5 : ROSKILDE - ODENSE
Drive over the Storebælt Bridge to Odense on the island of Funen. Odense is the birthplace of the great Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen. Everywhere in the city he is remembered. Follow his footsteps! A walk in one of the parks is also recommended. In the Kongens Have, you can see the impressive Odense Castle or marvel at the fish stairs in the Munke Mose. Overnight in Odense.
Day 6 : ODENSE — Bandholm
True island hopping is on the agenda today. Ferry crossing from Spodsbjerg to Tårs. Continue to Bandholm. Bandholm is a small, cosy port town on the island of Lolland. Guests can stroll through the small alleys or rent a bicycle to explore the surroundings. Maribo is also 8 km away and features traditional market days, which are located in Maribo.
The nearby Knuthenborg Safari Park is well worth a visit. Overnight stay in Bandholm or surroundings
Day 7 : RETURN HOME/RÖDBY - PUTTGARDEN
Now it’s time to say goodbye to cozy Denmark. Drive to Rödby, Scandlines ferry crossing to Puttgarden & individual journey home.
