Day 1 : Individual arrival to Copenhagen
The Danish capital has a lot to offer. We recommend an early arrival. Guests can stroll through the historic centre or visit the famous Tivoli amusement park. In the evening, personal welcome and bicycle delivery.
Day 2 : Copenhagen - Koge
Most of your first day’s stage leads along the so-called Køge Bay, always the Baltic Sea in view. The completely car-free Amager Fælled National Park will impress you in terms of scenery, and the Arken Museum of Modern Art. Køge is one of Denmark’s oldest cities and is located right on the coast. The white sandy beaches invite you to take a refreshing dip in the cool water.
Day 3 : Exploring Stevns Peninsula (Day Trip from Køge)
Today you will explore the Stevns Peninsula. Along the coast, you can quickly reach Strøby Ladeplads and its many cottages. Inland, you will pass through Magleby and Gjorslev Castle and finally reach the UNESCO World Heritage Stevns Klint. The cliffs and the old church of Højerup invite you to linger and offer breathtaking views. Just a short distance and you can reach the idyllic village of Fakse Ladeplads, which is right by the lake via Rødvig, with direct train connections back to Køge (not included). Sporty cyclists can also return inland via Karise and Herfølge. (80km)
Day 4 : Koge - Roskilde
You leave Køge and cycle the first stretch along the coast to Karlstrup. Your route will take you inland from the coast. You will cycle along the so-called Hedebostien cycle path, which was recently rebuilt and allows a direct connection between Køge Bay and Roskilde Fjord. New breathtaking scenic impressions await you, a welcome change from the coastal paths. Roskilde has a rich historical past. Take a long time for a stroll through the historic city centre and visit the famous cathedral of Roskilde, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 5 : Exploring Roskilde Fjord (Day Trip from Roskilde)
You are spoilt for choice today. The shortest route takes you to Lejre to the Land of Legends, a 43-hectare “field laboratory” for experimental archaeology. You can also visit the beautiful Ledreborg Castle with its castle park. For the more sporty, a day trip west to Holbæk or north along the fjord to Frederikssund is worthwhile. Whatever way you choose, there are convenient train connections for the way back, and each variant will captivate you in its own way.
Day 6 : Roskilde - Copenhagen
Today, the stage will take you directly back to the starting point of your cycling tour, the Danish capital of Copenhagen. From Albertslund there is a recently built cycle path that takes you to the centre almost without traffic. In the afternoon, there is still plenty of time to explore the city on your own. During a stroll, you can recall all all the wonderful impressions of your bike trip through East Zealand.
Day 7 : Individual departure
After breakfast, your trip ends.
