Day 1 : PUTTGARDEN — RODBY/ARRIVAL TO KOGE
Scandlines ferry journey from Puttgarden to Rødby and continue to Køge. Along the way, be sure to make a stop on the island of Møn, with its 128-metre high, spectacular chalk cliff, Møns Klint. Fossil hunters should also stop at the calcareous faxes and try their luck to find a Haifi SCH tooth or other fossils in the former 63 billion old coral reef. Overnight stay in Køge or surroundings.
Day 2 : KOGE — COPENHAGEN — HELSINGOR
The Danish capital city of Copenhagen is a short drive away. Discover the Royal Fairytale Town! The many castles in the city are always reminiscent of the Danish royal family. Check out the residence of Queen Amalienborg or stroll through the castle gardens and marvel at the crown jewels of the Danish royal family at Rosenborg Castle. A boat trip from the old port of Nyhavn will take you to the little mermaid, the city’s landmark. In the afternoon we will continue to the north of Zeeland. Overnight stay in Helsingør or surroundings.
Day 3 : HELSINGOR — AARHUS
Before leaving Helsingør, be sure to take a look at Kronborg Castle. The castle is also known as the Hamlet Castle, as Shakespeare took the plot of his play Hamlet. From Helsingør, head to Odden, where you can take the ferry to Jutland. On the way to Odden, there are numerous stopovers, such as Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød. Overnight in the Aarhus area.
Day 4 : AARHUS
Today you have plenty of time to discover the “hyggelige” (cozy) city of Aarhus. Immerse yourself in the world of the Vikings by visiting the Mösgård Museum, visit “The Old Town” (Den Gamle By) or take in enchanting views of the city from the rainbow panorama of the Aros Art Museum. A walk through the Marselisborg Forest, right by the sea, is also recommended. Marselisborg Castle, the summer residence of the Danish Queen, is also located here. Overnight stay as the day before.
Day 5 : AARHUS — ODENSE
Drive from Jutland to Funen with possible stopovers at Koldnhus Royal Castle. In the afternoon, explore the city of Odense in the footsteps of the poet and fairy tale writer H.C. Andersen! Visit the H.C. Andersen House and follow the H.C. Andersen hiking trail, which takes you past important buildings and sculptures in Odense. Overnight in the Odense area
Day 6 : EGESKOV CASTLE
Today, a visit to the fairytale Egeskov Castle, about 30 km from Odense, is on the program. The entrance fee is already included in the tour price! The moated castle is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Europe and enchants with its gardens, the moat, the Knight’s Hall and scary stories within its walls. Overnight stay as the day before.
Day 7 : RETURN HOME
Ferry crossing from Bøjden to Fynshavn and from there individual journey home.
