Day 1 : ARRIVAL ROSKILDE
Scandlines ferry journey from Puttgarden to Rødby. Continue to Roskilde. Make a stopover on the island of Møn with its 128-metre spectacular Møns Klint chalk cliff. In Roskilde you have the Possibility to visit the cathedral, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995, or take a walk by the harbour. The Viking Ship Museum is also well worth a visit. Overnight in Roskilde or surroundings.
Day 2 : ROSKILDE — ODENSE
Today you leave Zealand, the largest island in the Baltic Sea, and cross the Great Belt Bridge to the island of Funen. On the way to your destination of Odense, despite the small detour, it is worthwhile to visit the Egeskov Castle with one of the most beautiful historic gardens in Europe. It’s a fairytale move on to Odense. Here you will find the trail of the famous Danish poet and fairytale writer H.C. Andersen: follow the H.C. Andersen hiking trail and visit Andersen’s parents’ house. Overnight in Odense or surroundings.
Day 3 : ODENSE — RINGKOBING
From Funen it goes to the peninsula of Jutland. Drive via Billund and visit the world-renowned Legoland. Not only children will be amazed here! History buffs also have the opportunity to take a trip to Ribe. In Denmark’s oldest city, a Viking village can be visited. In the afternoon, you can take a relaxing stroll through the town of Ringkøbing and enjoy the charm of the city. Overnight stay in Ringkøbing or its surroundings.
Day 4 : RINGKOBING
Today, you can relax on one of the beautiful beaches of the west coast. The beaches south and north of Søndervig are ideal for sunbathing and kite boarding. For dinner, one of the fish restaurants in the fishing town of Hvide Sande is highly recommended. Hardly any fish is served fresher than here! Overnight stay as the day before.
Day 5 : RINGKOBING — AALBORG
Take a little time for today’s drive and drive along the coast, through Thy National Park and via Hanstholm to Aalborg. Time and again, you can make a stopover at one of the charming beaches. Once in Aalborg, it is worth taking a walk through the cosy old town with Budolfi Square and Jens Bangs stone house, the largest townhouse of the Renaissance in the north. Overnight stay in Aalborg or surroundings.
Day 6 : AALBORG — AARHUS
Drive directly to Aarhus today so you have plenty of time to get to know Denmark’s second largest city. The rainbow panorama of the Aros Art Museum offers colourful views of the city. The Mösgård Museum, which is beautifully situated in a wooded area, fascinates with its fantastic architecture and interactive exhibition about the Viking era.
For shopping or a coffee break, the Latin Quarter of the Old Town with its many “hygienical” (cosy) cafés and small shops is ideal. The Aarhus Streetfood Market also offers a variety of culinary delicacies! Overnight in Aarhus or surroundings.
Day 7 : AARHUS — COPENHAGEN
In the morning we will go from the second largest city to the capital of Denmark: Copenhagen is waiting for you! The ferry from Aarhus in Jutland to Odden in Zeeland is very relaxed.
From Odden it is only a 1 1/2 hour drive to Copenhagen. In the afternoon, a boat trip from the old port of Nyhavn is recommended in good weather. From the water you can see Amalienborg — the Queen’s residence, Christiansborg Parliament, the opera and of course Copenhagen’s landmark: the Little Mermaid! Overnight stay in Copenhagen or surroundings.
Day 8 : COPENHAGEN
Today you have the whole day to discover the royal fairy tale town for yourself! Stroll through the city centre with Strøget shopping street and climb Rundetårn, which offers great views of the city. Guests can also visit the castle garden with the Rosenborgslot or alternatively the Free State of Christiania. Not only children’s families will have their joys at Tivoli Amusement Park or the Blå Planet National Aquarium. Guests can end the evening in one of the restaurants in the trendy Kødbyen district. Overnight stay as the day before.
Day 9 : RETURN HOME
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, guests are welcome to say goodbye to Denmark. Drive to ROdby and ferry crossing to Puttgarden. Individual journey home.
